Punnu Singh Wasu

Punnu Singh Wasu is an Indian vocalist, musician and songwriter. He was born and raised in Hyderabad, India into a family that has a true love for Kirtan and spirituality. He began studying the harmonium and singing at the tender age of 5. At age 10, Punnu moved on to learning the Indian (Hindustani) classical music while traveling with his father throughout India singing the beautiful verses of Kirtan. Later on, his knowledge of mandolin became his focal point. Nowadays he performs Kirtan, Xtatic Kirtan, Indian Fusion, Sufi, Indian Classical music, Bollywood music as well as Sound Healing around the world. He also leads music workshops in combination with yoga and meditation.

Punnu’s musical style is a mix of “East meets West” – Indian Fusion. The concerts he leads often build from a slow, meditative tempo to a high paced catharsis. He has a remarkably soulful voice that touches the deepest chord in even the most casual listener, and it is common for his audiences to clap their hands or stand up and dance during his concerts.

Currently, Punnu resides in Bali where he works at the world renowned yoga centre, The Yoga Barn, in Ubud. He is on the monthly schedule teaching hatha yoga, leading meditation, singing Kirtan and offering sound healing journeys. He also leads spiritual courses, meditation workshops and reiki courses regularly. Holistic healing at The Yoga Barn features him as one of their onsite healers and he offers private holistic healing sessions and spiritual counseling daily.
