Jason Kalidas is Bansuri player, healing sound artist, Tabla player, overtone singer, Nada/ Bhakti yoga workshop facilitator and analog electronica artist.
A percussionist since 1990, Jason began studying Indian Classical music in 1996 on Tabla. He learned with Ishwar Lal Mishra in varanasi and also Sirishkumar Manji in London. He then trained in Bansuri and Indian classical Raagas with Ashok Kumar Metha from a long lineage of Bansuri and Shehnai players .
Jason performs Indian classical concerts on Bansuri throughout India and Europe with acclaimed Tabla players Amit Mishra and Sirishkumar Manji etc.He holds unique guided meditation and sound immersions with the harmonically rich healing sounds of overtone singing, analog electronica together with Raagas on Bansuri.
Within Kirtan/chant Jason has toured extensively with Bhagavan Das, Arjun baba and Dave stringer and facilitates Bhakti yoga and mantra immersions on teacher trainings etc. He has also developed unique yoga and sacred sound workshops and retreats, co-hosted with international teachers.
Composing music for dance has been a big part of Jason’s work as well crossing many genre of music including jazz, drum n bass, psi- chill, world fusion and various electronica. He has performed at world class venues including The Place London , Sadlers Wells, The UN headquarters NYC, Macba Barcelona and many more.
